My student's love small group time! We need special hands-on materials to help strengthen our math and language skills.
I teach 22 second graders in a Title 1 school.
I have a very diverse group of enthusiastic and inquisitive students. They vary from visual to hands-on learners. They are very excited to learn and look forward to small group time with their teacher and fellow students.
My Project
By providing my students with these hands-on and visual math and language manipulatives, they will be more engaged and excited about new and maybe even challenging concepts. We have very limited resources and are in need of materials like these to enhance our learning. During small group time they are able to work closely with their teacher and peers with hands-on and meaningful materials to reinforce concepts we are working on in class. Students will use the magnetic word builders to strengthen their skills with phonics and spelling. I will be able to use the teaching charts to guide students writing and reading. This will help them become better writers and help them create wonderful stories and letters. The place value blocks will give my students a hands-on opportunity to strengthen a skill that is often difficult for many of my second graders.
With your help, my students will be given the opportunity to strengthen their math and language skills.
We would not have the opportunity to use these wonderful resources if it were not for generous donors like you! What an amazing gift you will be giving my students!
