Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a teacher in a low income/high poverty school district , my students deal with several challenges. It is hard to watch their struggles without reaching out to help.
My students experience so many roadblocks on their learning path and writing should not be one.Since many are second language learners, the ability to write and speak clearly is often a struggle.
My hope is to allow students to learn to move through the writing process with a clearer vision of what is expected. They need to learn how to navigate the prewriting , editing and publishing process I am looking to ignite a love of learning for each one of my students and this begins with making clear writing easier to learn! .
My Project
I plan to teach editing skills with four color pen to prewrite, edit, revise and organize in a few easy steps! I want to make the process less arduous and more attractive. The pen will take them from prewrite to publishing ! The black ink begin the brainstorm/prewrite, the blue ink add information/transitions, the green ink will revise and the red ink will edit their work. The folders will make their life as a writer more manage and productive with special pockets for the different writing stages. Writing takes time and needs to be managed well in order to be effective.
