Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My young students are preschoolers who attend Head Start. The children are fun, energetic and curious 3 to 5 year olds. My students are ready to learn all about bugs! We are able to hold our writing tools correctly to print and illustrate ideas and thoughts in our Science journals. My students are eager to learn about the different bugs we see everyday; for example; Ladybugs, Fireflies and Butterflies! We like to draw in our Science journals and our teachers dictate our responses. We write and draw about many topics that we are learning about; such as weather, birds and bugs. It is exciting to be an author and an illustrator. We could used Science supplies for our Discovery center. Who knows? Maybe we might have a famous Scientist among us!

My Project

We are staring a new unit on bugs. We are very excited and curious learn about bugs and explore the great outdoors this Spring! What are the differences between a bug and an insect? As we explore the and make discoveries as a class; my students always have good questions and ideas. I want to support my students curiosity and creativity by providing hands-on materials in our classroom learning centers. The classroom learning centers provide students the time to learn, explore and make their own discoveries to extend their knowledge on a topic or theme. As I continue to expose my students to everyday Science; I want them to see how beautiful our world truly is. Helping young children to see how lovely creatures are from Birds to Bugs and everything in between. I want to develop an sense of wonder in each of my preschoolers!
