My students need copies of this AP US History reader to tackle the most important historical thinking skills needed for success on the exam and access key historical documents.
Hello and welcome to my room! We are studying AP United States History. We are committed to being college ready and taking the first step to challenging ourselves with rigorous coursework. Help my students get our very own copy of our history reader. We work hard but also enjoy wonderful debates!
My students are eleventh grade students at our urban Title I high school.
My students have been selected for their top grades and recommended by previous teachers to take this rigorous college level course. This is the first opportunity students have to be exposed to college level work and build their resume. We are actively seeking to make our students college-ready. My students are funny, inquisitive and enjoy challenging themselves. We are, therefore, hoping to provide them with all the tools necessary for their success.
My Project
Students will use these books within the classroom to work in groups to decipher key historical texts. Students will learn about the historical thinking skills required of this particular course and will assess the documents by identifying, analyzing and comparing/contrasting. This historical reader will also allow my students to learn the key skills for the long essay question and document based question portion of the exam. Students will be using these readers on a weekly basis.
This donation will provide us with a US History course reader that students will be using every week.
By the end of the school year, students will have read 100% of the book. Students will have a single source for all their readings and be able to assess these quality sources.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
