Help me give my students a chance to learn more of a chance to advocate for themselves and their communities in this changing world. Being an immigrant even in a sanctuary city has its challenges.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Equity matters at our school and through instructional materials, we stress we must respect each other's differences. These materials will help highlight some worldly differences while teaching students equity and respect. The materials can be used in Health classes strengthening national standard 8. In this standard, we advocate for ourselves as well as our families and our neighboring community. We must relearn to respect the struggles each culture must pass through to gain equity, These books (Pride and Soft Rain) are perfect for introducing equity to non-English speakers and learning English.
