it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, imaginative, and eager to learn. We are a Title-1 school in a low-income urban community. Many of my students rely on being in school to receive the resources that they need to learn and the social-emotional outlets that they need to express themselves and manage their feelings.
My beautiful and energetic class is filled with 21 first graders who have been working very hard to learn from home since March 23rd.
My students look forward to experimenting through hands on experiences in school and for many of them this is the highlight of their day. My students do not have access to materials in their homes that will allow them to engage in hands-on science experiments.
My Project
My students are eager to explore, observe, and experiment! Since the beginning of the year we have been looking forward to learning about the Life-Cycle of a Butterfly.
Please help my students discover the incredible transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly with their own eyes!
The live butterfly kit will allow my students to observe the stages of a butterfly's life as it is actually happening. My students will share this experience through live video chats where we look at the caterpillars and notice changes throughout the life cycle.
My students will each receive a copy of "Pete the Cat and the Cool Caterpillar" so that they can make connections to what is happening in the story and what happens when a caterpillar transforms into a caterpillar.
