My students need technology in the classroom. Our world is technology driven and our students need to experience these opportunities. I have chosen a laptop to use in our classroom to better their education.

My Students
I teach in a multilingual kindergarten classroom. I have a mix of students from our school's neighborhood and students that are from other countries or bilingual. There are several different languages spoken by the students in my classroom; including but not limited to English, Spanish, Nepali, Arabic, and Swahili. My students are diverse in the languages they speak, their culture, and their academic abilities. A few students have attended PreK but most have never been in a school setting before. A few students don't even speak English when they first come to school.
I teach in a Title 1 school where all of my students qualify for free lunch.
Even though there are many challenges, they are happy to come to school and eager to learn. They are energetic, caring, and sometimes very funny kindergartners that deserve the very best I can offer them!
My Project
I chose a laptop for my project because my classroom is lacking in technology. School curriculums are now connected to the digital world! With this laptop I will be able to project morning meeting, use the curriculum connections, model exactly how to complete a task, and use different websites to supplement on certain skills.
My students are bilingual and need visual and auditory examples.
I cannot provide this to the best of my ability without a laptop to connect to the projector. I am confident with this laptop I will be able to open the door to a whole new world for my classroom.
