We Are Bit by the Technology Bug!

My students need headphones and tablets to increase our technology use while increasing our reading knowledge.

My Students

My students need the tools of technology. I want them to be able to embrace new technology to further their reading skills.

My students are kindergarten through 2nd grade who struggle with phonemic awareness and phonics skills.

We are a Title One school where most of the children only interact with their parents cell phone to play games. I want to use technology to engage my students and teach them how learning new skills on the computer will help them become a better reader.

My Project

My students will be able to hear sounds from words and also use fine motor skills to write letters on the tablets. They would also be able to manipulate letters to make words and hear the words they make. In my classroom I would be able to have a center of tablets and headphones that I could use during my reading block, so my students could explore reading applications in class.

I want to use technology to help facilitate learning in reading for my students.

With different websites and apps I could use technology to immediately improve their reading skills while engaging them. With the new tablets and headphones my students would pick up phonics and grammar skills while having fun!
