My Project
As a new teacher coming into Special Education this year, my biggest goal is to improve my students' reading abilities. I loved reading as a child and I would love to be able to help my students love it too. I also understand how important it is for students to be able to self-regulate their emotions.
I intend to focus on helping my students with improving their learning in phonics, sight words, word reading fluency and reading comprehension.
I hope these resources will provide more practice for them in my class. I also hope to improve our reading nook area by adding 3 bookshelves to help organize our class library.
I also hope to help my students' growth in SEL (Social Emotional Learning). Some resources I have included in this project will provide visuals for them to help them learn how express their feelings. Other items will help them self-regulate in our classroom calming corner when they are having a difficult day.
