This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic and very curious. They enjoy school and learning using all their senses. They are all learning English as a second language. My students attend school in the inner city. The school is nestled among railroad tracks and factories. All of my students qualify for federally funded lunches. They have very limited resources yet are the most generous.

My students are thirsty for knowledge.

They love to feel like scientists. They're fascinated with the life cycle of animals and plants. They are always ready to learn and, despite their shortcomings, they always try their very best.

My Project

The Botley Coding Robot Activity Set will help my students and entire grade level gain hands-on experiences in coding and robotics without the need to be stuck on a screen.

As our school transitions into a STEAM curriculum, it is necessary to offer all our students the opportunity to experience coding and robotics even in the primary grades.

Students will use these robots and coding systems not only to play but also to make connections with what they are learning in math, science, art, and technology. Bringing these resources into our curriculum will help merge technology and more traditional areas of study.
