We Are All Math People!

Help me give my students number talk activities and assorted mathematical games to help close the educational gaps due to Hurricane Michael followed by two years of Covid.

My Project

My students are uniquely wonderful; bright, funny, curious, talkative, shy, athletic, brave, optimistic, and charming! They have a zest for life and learning. Unfortunately, they have had three years of interrupted education due to Hurricane Michael, followed by the pandemic.

The requested hands-on math materials will help my students to visualize and conceptualize mathematical concepts, thereby helping them to close the gaps in their education learning.

The magnetic blocks and fraction tiles and circles will help students to develop a deeper understanding of fractions and geometry concepts. The dartboard will be used for probability lessons. The mathematical games will be use in centers to help reinforce concepts for students.

As my students have many gaps in their mathematical learning, hands-on materials will help them to make connections to prior learning and solidify their understanding of the concept. Hands-on materials will also keep them engaged while learning mathematics.
