This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students at my school are so excited to get involved in projects. Most are eager to learn and love individual attention. Then there are a few who can sit back and hide in the background. They need my attention, too! We learn about each other through what we do together. I need all of my students involved.
Video production will let me see students work in a fun way, and cuts through the “embarrassment factor”.
As we learn new musical pieces most students love to perform. Some are super shy but come alive if there’s a camera or iPad making a movie. I want this added tool for my students development. Imagine a class of 20 ten year old children playing ukulele and singing their favorite song. It’s getting pretty polished and I invite one to be videographer using the iPad camera app and then movie editor with iMovie. They’re excited but need a little help so they get a friend and work together to make it great. They feel amazing because they’re serving in a cool way, and the class feels amazing because they’re on video making music that they love. I love my job and need the tools! Please help me.
