Our school district got a new online reading program called Lexia Core 5. Students work at their own level to increase their reading skills. They are placed in a level when they take their first diagnostic test and then work through lessons to pass each level. They pass around 80-95 lessons in order to move up to the next level. I wanted to have an incentive for them to pass the lessons, so I created "Lexia Level Up" parties after each nine weeks. If a student "levels up" they earn the party. I have a themed party for each nine weeks. The third nine weeks party will be an ice cream themed party.
I will be making goodie bags with the mini notepads, pencil, pen, candy, stamper and more.
Then I will decorate the classroom like an ice cream parlor. The students will get to make their own ice cream sundaes, get a goodie bag, listen to music and dance, and have a coloring contest to win a prize. I had my first Lexia Level up party that was fall themed and the students absolutely loved it.
