My Project
Due to more than half of our students coming from low income households, we are often their primary resource for most of their needs. This includes their need for effective physical movement breaks. Our students need more equipment for breaks at school. Our students are active, creative, and enjoy any opportunities to have fun and learn. A key part of learning is having physical breaks. Whether it is at home or in school, all of us need to have movement breaks.
Movement breaks with the selected equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, etc.) will help our students to increase focus, reduce stress and anxiety, and support the processing needed to help with productivity.
These research-based breaks have also been proven to be beneficial by helping to increase circulation and oxygen to the brain and promote healthier living.
All of our students will have the opportunity to use these items daily. They will be used during movement breaks such as recess and in-class brain breaks. All the items will also help foster social skills and learning, while promoting health. The soccer balls and basketballs will especially help students increase their daily physical activity required with more rigorous activity during their breaks.
