Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are part of our school's bilingual program and most of them are newcomers, within our classroom they feel comfortable and ready to conquer the world but when they are around English-speaking peers they lack confidence and tend to quiet down completely. My students come from families that need to work more than one job and most times have no time to spend with their kids. All of them are on a free- or reduced lunch program. But that doesn't stop them from looking for the positive in situations!

Our classroom Affirmation Station promotes positivity and the opportunity to brighten up many students' days!

I have asked students in the past what they thought of the Affirmation Station and they all had awesome answers. Some said they would take one to cheer themselves up.

This space in our room will be dedicated to them and to lift their spirits every day. The other items in this room will help keep our classroom rodent-free and the materials to help put this section in our room together.
