I teach a fun, active group of 25-second graders. They love to learn and work together. In second grade, we learn a lot of new skills every day. These students are eager to learn and apply their skills every day!
My students are on a variety of levels in the classroom.
They need engaging ways to practice the skills they are missing. My students that are reading above level need engaging ways to challenge their brains!
They need new and exciting experiences to keep them engaged in our curriculum. I like to provide them with experiences that will immerse them in the learning and teach them about the world we live in.
My Project
We have adopted a new phonics program this year! It is incredible and the students are showing SO much growth in reading and spelling. Many students are getting 100% percent on tests and shocked at the words they are able to read.
Phonics knowledge is necessary for children to succeed in reading.
These tools will help us your phonics programs effectively. The mirrors will help us learn letter sounds effectively. They will be able to see how their mouths should look while making the sound and this helps them recognize it in words. The chips and phonics kits will help us with matching phonemes to graphemes. The decodable readers will help us put this knowledge to text. Being able to read an entire book is a great confidence booster for the readers!
