My Project
Flags are an important part of different people's identities. The Black Lives Matter movement and LGBTQIA+ pride are important parts of our classroom identity. As we close out the year, I want for students to be able to demonstrate their values inside and outside of the classroom.
Black Lives Matter and LGBTQIA+ flags will show our community and the world what we value beyond just this school year.
An inclusive learning environment is a benefit for all students, and feeling welcomed is important to building community and learning as a community. Full sized flags will go up in classrooms and small flags will be given directly to students. There is even talk of students organizing a Pride parade!
