This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students at GWE are amongst the most kind and respectful kids you will ever meet. They are a just a joy to teach.

In my Visual Arts class, many of my students walk in with the mentality that they "simply can't draw"... I love observing their sense of pride when they see before their own eyes that they can in fact draw!

My favorite moments with my students are when I see them helping each other explain how to do/create artwork, and the spark on their eyes as they witness the incredible skills they posses. My students know that in my class everyone has a chance to express themselves safely. I miss them dearly and can't wait to go back safely to teach them as we did prior to this pandemic.

My Project

The first project I have in mind, is the Color Wheel. As I model and teach Color Theory virtually, my students will be able to learn as they follow step by step directions. I know that my students will learn best as they create their own colors.

My Diverse Learners will benefit greatly as they explore with these materials... not only will they acquire the skills needed in Visual Arts but also have a tool of their own to create Art.

When we return to our classrooms, the likelihood of sharing materials is very slim. These 200 watercolors will reach 9 classrooms, grades k-2. Please help me send home some joy!
