This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All students deserve the opportunity to develop their creativity! They must learn to use many techniques and work with a variety of art tools and materials. While drawing is usually what comes to mind, exploring the art of painting is always something students enjoy doing. These specific items will set a foundation for students' understanding of Color Theory. These tools are a scaffold to future projects. Students will create a color wheel and then learn about various color schemes like monochromatic, neutral, triadic, complementary, analagous and many more.
The goals for this project are to teach students everything they need to know about color theory and to apply that learning to future projects, such as painting using watercolors.
As they build their background knowledge, they will experiment with color schemes to create unique projects.
I have an incredible group of students who usually begin our Art class intimidated, but who gradually gain self confidence by learning techniques and how to use art tools in order to display their creativity. They are eager to learn and I'm eager to help them reach their artistic potential!
