Water Test Kits for AP Enviornmental Science

My students need a water test kit to understand the need for clean water by testing water in many different forms, lakes, ponds, rivers, etc. This test kit will allow these students to accomplish this testing process and better understand the need to keep our waters clean.

This project is fully funded

In rural North Carolina current legislation is being considered and challenged to prevent the creation of too many nonporous surfaces due to the amount of water runoff that has increased. This runoff contains pollutants and gets into our drinking water instead of going through natural soil filtering. To better understand the impact of this legislation I want my students to understand both sides of the legislation by getting a clear picture of what is happening to our water supply due to increased development in our area.

I teach military dependents who have lived all over the world and will continue to move in and out of our area. The knowledge they learn in my classroom will help to better understand conditions throughout the world and throughout their lives. Due to the war effort our supply budget is very tight and this directly effects our level of hands on teaching in science.

The test kit from Carolina Biological will allow students to test many different aspects of water quality and form opinions on what has occurred to the water and what can improve it.

Your help with this project will help my students become better citizens and caretakers of the environment. Environmental issues such as the need for clean drinking water needs to be experienced by students directly so they can work to better improve our world.
