Help me give my students to have basic needs at school, such as drinking water and printed material, when the technology fails.

My Students

My students live in impoverished areas of the city. More than 95% of my students receive government assistance. Some students come to school hungry and without the bare necessities for class. Numerous students have to walk to and from school, even if they live a mile away from the school. Additionally, all students don’t have access to technology and/or the WiFi in classes is extremely slow. Consequently, I have to print assignments for students who don’t have computers. My students are still eager to learn and they yearn for a better life. My goal is to provide students with everything that they need to succeed.

My Project

Returning to school in person has been challenging, mentally as well as physically. With 95% of students dwelling in households that receive government assistance, not having operable water fountains has proven to be an extraordinary inconvenience for students. I often share bottles of water and/or tea with students, because many students do not have money to purchase drinks from the vending machines.

I have shared my bottle water with students, because the water fountains were shut off, due to COVID-19 restrictions and there were no bottles of free water on the campus.

Help me to make sure that any student in need of water will have water to stay hydrated.
