Before COVID, my students were able to use the water fountain in my classroom to get water when they were thirsty. But I always recommended each student bring in their own to have at their seat. I drink water throughout the day and it is only fair that my students are able to as well. So since COVID, water fountains have been shut down and students are supposed to bring in their own to use. This also helps alleviate the movement and asking, "Can I have some water?" I ask each student to bring in a water bottle to use at their seat, recess, lunch if they choose, and PE.
This project will allow each of my students (next year) to have their own water bottles that they leave at school and refill.
There are also extras for when they lose or break them. This will help my parents not have to worry about sending on in and also for my students to know they always have a water bottle in class.
