My Project

S: Safe, O: Organized A: Accountability R: Respectful R: Responsible are all the characteristics that at our school, we are working towards on a daily basis.

Each day our students are working on SOARRING and make a difference in their lives.

This SOARR program is designed to be our PBIS plan for our school. WHAT is PBIS?? Great Question: Through rewards (which is what we have requested), we know students strive on doing better.

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) in Elementary Schools is a proactive framework that focuses on creating a positive school climate by teaching students appropriate behaviors and providing consistent support. It emphasizes prevention, data-driven decision-making, and ongoing evaluation of school culture and student outcomes. Here’s how PBIS is typically implemented in elementary schools:

What are the expectations of PBIS in our school looks like in school.

Clear Expectations: At the heart of PBIS is the development of clear, positive behavioral expectations. These are communicated to students so they know what behaviors are expected across different settings (classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria, etc.). These expectations are often represented with simple phrases such as:

Be respectful

Be responsible

Be safe

Our Staff actively teach students the behaviors they expect to see. For instance, they may role-play how to walk quietly in the hallway or how to use kind words on the playground. These lessons are embedded in the school day and revisited regularly to reinforce learning.

Positive Reinforcement:

PBIS uses reinforcement strategies to acknowledge and celebrate students who demonstrate positive behavior. This can include verbal praise, tokens, stickers, or earning privileges like extra recess time. Reinforcement is specific and linked to the desired behavior so that students understand what they did well.

Our students are awesome!!! We want to celebrate how they SOARR not only in school.
