Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is in a low-income/high poverty rural community. I teach in a self-contained Exceptional Student Education classroom to students with language difficulties and various exceptionalities in kindergarten through 5th grade. My students will typically remain in my classroom for multiple school years. They are a wonderful and diverse group who deserve the best that life can offer them. While all children are special in their own way, these kiddos are truly inspiring!

I want to give each of my students every opportunity to reach their fullest potential.

I want my students to have fun while they are learning. I feel truly blessed to be able to witness them light up as they learn about themselves and the world around them.

I believe that it is important to celebrate their accomplishments, big and small. My students work on social emotional and independent functioning skills as part of our curriculum, and are each working on their own individual goals. I would like to create a display to chart their growth and purchase fun incentives to encourage my students to meet their individual goals. I would also like to purchase birthday items to teach my students to celebrate themselves and each other!
