My Students

My resource class is very small, and the students are very low. I want my students to know some geography vocab. by the end the year. My biggest challenge is giving them the material that they need on the level that they are on. "Education is the most powerful weapon"~Nelson Mandela

My school is a multicultural diverse Title I school, where students are willing to assist someone that they know needs help with out being made to.

Students are free to wear clothes that might not be in style and feel okay about it.

My Project

My students struggle with comprehension and memory skills which hurts them when it comes to Geography, the study of places and the relationships between people and their environments. The students claim the vocabulary is to hard what I think is that it is not interesting enough to keep their attention. In Geography, the globe, phonics boards and the landform matching game are all to provide student interaction, resources for sounding out the vocabulary and assist with remembering information by piecing the information to an actual picture. The Discover the World activity folders and the Daily Geography Activity will provide the students the ability to take what they have learned from the other sources and apply them to text material.

This project will not only assist the students in Geography with vocabulary, putting together concepts with meanings.

It will give them the skills to use in other subjects as well. This project will be like bringing hip-hop to Geography.
