My Students
The kiddos I have in my classroom are ambitious, sociable, and always asking questions. There are students who are learning how to read, some are to be considered gifted and talented, while others have behavioral issues that have continued the support throughout of the day.
The students in my class not only come from different backgrounds and speak a language that's different from the person sitting across from them, but they all have something in common; a love for learning.
Each child learns differently, therefore, I am wanting to create a learning environment that suits the needs of each and every child that enters my classroom.
My Project
Students learn best when they are able to choose things, whether that be a certain writing topic or where they sit in class. Flexible seating allows students to choose a spot that best suits their needs. It also encourages students to collaborate with one another when they have flexible seating arrangements.
Most importantly, children need consistent movement throughout their day in order to succeed.
With flexible seating options, such as wobble chairs, bleachers, bean bags, and portable laptop desks that we are currently looking to receive, students can find what works for them to help them learn throughout the day. It encourages them to include movement in their day, collaborates with their classmates, and stimulates their sense of touch which can be beneficial for students who are diagnosed with ADHD/ADD.
