Waste to Riches and Robots: Cultivating Sustainability and Career Pathways
Help me give my students engineering notebooks for 2025-26 PBLs. Students will create compost/rovers, documenting work to build critical thinking, communication, and creativity.
As a dedicated STEAM school, we're committed to providing our students with hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for the future. This project will ignite our students' passion for sustainability and future careers through two engaging Project-Based Learning (PBL) experiences.
Students will transform school lunch waste into valuable compost, providing vital resources for our indoor and outdoor gardens while learning firsthand about environmental stewardship and drastically reducing our landfill contributions.
Simultaneously, they'll step into the shoes of engineers by designing and building rovers, gaining hands-on experience with technology and exploring exciting possibilities within the manufacturing industry.
These impactful projects are crucial for ensuring our students are not only learning but also actively documenting their work. Through these experiences, they will cultivate essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, effective communication, and creative problem-solving. By connecting practical environmental solutions with cutting-edge robotics, this project empowers our students to be innovative leaders in a sustainable and technologically advanced future.
