My school is a Title I school in south Seattle. The population at our school is very diverse. We are a school of amazing students! Our students are caring, respectful, responsible members of society who have incredibly curious minds.
Our library is a dynamic hub of learning where students find books in our diverse library collection.
Our staff is committed to creating an inclusive environment for all students to learn and grow. This year, our focus is on the important need to support our students' academic and SEL as we reenter in person learning. Our goal is to make sure all students feel loved, supported, academically challenged, and their voices heard.
My Project
Every year, the Washington Library Association creates nominees for their various children's book awards. Our students love participating in these reading challenges by reading the books in school. These books often are the center point for students to set reading goals, to expose students to new genres, as well as, provide an opportunity for our readers to have their voices heard through voting in the spring.
By donating to this project, you will be enriching the reading lives of all Dunlap students!
Titles in this project reach all reading levels and interests and will be a focal point for instruction to both in-person learners, as well as those learning from home.
