Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
At DHS, we believe that every student deserves a clean slate each day—both mentally and physically. Unfortunately, for some of our students, access to clean clothes is a challenge, impacting their confidence, focus, and participation in school. To address this, we are launching a project to provide on-site washers and dryers at our school.
Our goal is to create a welcoming, supportive environment where all students can thrive without the distraction or stigma of unwashed clothes.
Access to laundry facilities will help students maintain hygiene, build self-esteem, and focus on their education. These machines will also be available to families in need through a simple sign-up system, fostering community connections and support.
With your generous donation, we can purchase durable, high-capacity washers and dryers, as well as the necessary supplies like detergent and fabric softener. These resources will be managed by our student support staff and volunteers, ensuring they are always available when needed.
By supporting this project, you are helping to remove a barrier that no child should face in their pursuit of education. Clean clothes are more than a basic necessity—they are a gateway to dignity, self-respect, and academic success.
