Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I'm a physical education teacher at a public school. I am writing to ask for your support on behalf of our students, many of whom come from low-income households, and some who are currently living in shelters.

For many of our students, school is not only a place for learning, but also a place of safety, stability, and support.

As the weather gets colder and the school day extends into afterschool sports and activities, we are seeking donations of warm clothing and healthy snacks to help meet our students’ basic needs.

Warm items such as hats, gloves, scarves, and sweatshirts help our students stay comfortable and focused throughout the school day and during outdoor activities. In addition, healthy snacks such as nutritious energy bars and warm beverages which plays a critical role in keeping students energized and attentive during afterschool sports, homework time, and exam preparation.

These small but meaningful supports make a big difference. When students are warm and nourished, they are better able to focus, participate, and succeed—both academically and physically.

Any donation you are able to provide would be deeply appreciated and will directly benefit the children we serve. If you are unable to donate at this time, sharing our request with others who may be willing to help would also mean a great deal to us.
