Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 11th and 12th grade students, and while these students are getting older and have high expectations, such as state testing, they still deserve an open and welcoming classroom environment. Students will feel welcomed and calm when having a classroom environment that is made for them. My goals are to create an open and welcoming classroom environment for students to be happy to learn in. We will use this classroom carpet as well as the other supplies to have morning meetings, reading lessons, word work lessons, and will use it as a sitting space when we use a resource on the big screen. Students are unique in their own way, and by having a welcoming classroom, snacks, a computer monitor, an Apple pencil, and desk supplies, I will create a positive environment to learn about what makes them unique.
