Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a diverse, yet humble backgrounds. We are an urban Title I school with desperate need of technology in the classrooms. They have a wonderful sense of curiosity and are in need of a way to see the world past the bustling streets around their community.
As a teacher, I want to guide and give these wonderful children an outlet to bring the world into their lives, and in turn, bring their lives into the world.
Many of the students in my class, as well at the school, struggle with the English language. This causes a disconnect with comprehension since the primary language spoken at home is Spanish and the only way they are exposed to learning is withing the four walls of the classroom.
My goal is to bring more technology into the classroom to help build in the areas they are struggling with and create an atmosphere of success and accomplishment.
My Project
Funding of this project will help bring more technology into the classroom which will allow us to go paperless. Since the world is getting more and more technology savvy, and this will help incorporate and implement a more technology-based educational environment.
Success in the classroom and in the real world is where the educational field is going.
With these requested Samsung Chromebook laptop computers, my students can get a feel for, and practice, society and the world's expectations that each generation will improve and lead. These wonderful instruments of technology will help me implement activities and projects which are STEM-based, as well as used to help gain strength in real world applications.
