WANTED: Stupendous Second Grade Writers
REWARD: Astonishing Adult Authors
Wonderful Writers Wanted: Sightings of superb authors have been reported from the second grade hall.
Twenty-one splendid writing suspects have been identified in Ms. C's class alone. These marvelous storytellers may be disguised in an attempt to avoid detection. Ms. C is calling an emergency community coalition to uncover these concealed novelists.
My Project
Reluctant writers can be coaxed out of hiding with colorful gel pens, and Frog Street Handwriting paper. Ticonderoga pencils won't break while the suspects are writing their confessions. Pink pearl erasers will expunge mistakes. Sharpie markers will sharpen skills. Highlighters will put the spotlight on spectacular sentences, and glue will make our illustrations stick.
I teach 21 remarkable second graders.
We are in a high poverty-Title I school where most students receive free or reduced lunches. My students' struggles do not diminish their eagerness for learning. I set the expectations high, and my students stretch to reach them. Thank you for your investment in rounding up reluctant writers and illustrators!
