My students need more violins so that no student is turned away from our program.

My Students
I'm proud to announce that my Elementary string program is growing, however, we are running short on violins. My students are currently sharing violins. Having a few extra violins will help this program continue to grow as the student body grows.
My students are 3rd grade public school students in Pennsylvania.
There are also a few other students that have opted to take violin from grades 2, 4 and 5. Participation in the music program is a tradition in this community, and even with the budget cuts, the students and program continue to thrive.
My Project
Learning to play the violin has many benefits to give the students than just reading music. A violin can help "fine-tune" motor skills, and give students a chance to excel in a subject other than the reading or math. I have had some students that struggle in their regular classroom excel in mine, and it gives them a sense of accomplishment that they may not be getting elsewhere. I do not exclude any student that wants to try and learn the instrument. Due to this, we need more violins in order to give every child the opportunity to learn this instrument. At the end of the year, students are also able to perform in a violin recital showing off their newly learned skills.
Your donations will help preserve and continue not only the violin program, but music education at this school.
This is a tough time, and strings are normally the first to get cut. We need to show that we can persevere and continue to give our students the best well-rounded education we can offer.
