My students need a dry erase board with an easel, dry erase markers, and erasers for class.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Collins's classroom raised $185
This project is fully funded
I teach high school biology at an inner city school. My students are more visual learners and do better with examples and diagrams than simply taking notes during class. They enjoy when we do flow charts and graphic organizers together.
In our classroom we only have one chalkboard. Everyday I write the lesson plan, review question, and homework assignment on this board, as well as any reminders. This does not leave us much room to write notes, give definitions, draw diagrams, or do examples as a class. I am constantly trying to cram as much information in the small areas as possible. When doing Venn Diagrams and flow charts, we have to write very small making it difficult to read and understand what it says.
Adding an additional board to our classroom would leave us ample room to draw diagrams and do examples. I love to do graphic organizers as a class, as the students have to use the information from class and put it all together. This allows the students to ask questions, and take great notes over the material. Having the dry erase board will also allow me to make lesson plans involving the students showing me their work on the board. This is extremely useful when learning a process with steps such as mitosis and meiosis. They would have the opportunity to draw it out on the board and learn each step as we go through it. I think the dry erase board will greatly enhance our classroom and my students' understanding of the material.
By adding a dry erase board to my classroom, we will be able to do more notes and examples together. Your donation and support helps my students to learn and understand the material better.
