My project needs 8 different book bundles, from American History to Outer Space to Favorite Chapter Books.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. B.'s classroom raised $408
This project is fully funded
Greeting! I work for a charter school in the inner city of Chicago and I teach third grade. I teach all academic subjects to my twenty-nine students.
My twenty-nine students are all very different, especially in their reading abilities. The reading abilities range from early first grade level all the way up to fifth grade level. This makes it extremely difficult for me to have appropriately leveled books for all my students to read. It is so important that students are reading "just right" books.
My students are desperately in need of new books for the classroom that are at their reading level and that are about interesting topics. My students are often reading books that are way above their reading level which does not help in improving their reading abilities. My students are also almost always reading fiction books, rather than nonfiction books. By obtaining these book bundles my students will be acquiring the necessary tools to expand their horizons, as well as to read books that are "just right" for them.
My students are young and impressionable and my goal is for them to develop a love for reading. Many of my students do not have books at home to read so school is where they learn to read for enjoyment. By bringing my project to life you will be responsible for fostering a love for reading in these children and helping them continue to develop their reading skills.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
