My students come from a school where they all receive free breakfast and lunch. School is a very important part of their lives. It the place they come for stability. It is the place that makes them feel safe and secure. Through generous donors we are able to help them have what they need.
My students love to read and are always looking for new books and new book series to read.

As our new media specialist I am trying to find ways to get more books for our school library.
Growing up as a child one of fondest memories was going to the library to check out books to read. However, most of my students do not go to the public library. They get their books from their classroom library and the school library. I love it when my students come in the library and I am able to help them find that perfect book. Their faces light up as they find it and then inevitably they share it with all of their friend. We have started keeping a list of books that they would like to see in our library. I know that I can't possibly provide them with all of the books that they ask for but I would like to be able to get them as many of the books as I possibly can.
Every time we get new books the students get so excited and I can't keep the books on the shelves. They would be love to have more chapter books in our media center. By purchasing these books for our library you will help my students excitement for reading continue to grow.
