Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school community is in an impoverished urban area and is comprised of over 900 middle school students who come from many different backgrounds and countries.

Our students need more of the books that are requested most often.

We never seem to have enough of these books to go around.

My Project

We need more copies of the books that our students are requesting the most often.

We never seem to have enough copies of the most requested books to meet the reading needs of our students in a timely manner.

We have a huge hold list of students waiting for these books.

These books will be available and borrowed by our students through the school library. Many students will have access to them.

Our school also participates in interlibrary loan through our district.

Since most of our students have returned to in person learning we are inundated with book requests. I bought a number of eBooks, but the students want a print book.
