Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Some of my students, who are between the ages of five and eight years old, have Autism or Down Syndrome. Unfortunately, they are also low income. They are very loving, but at times they do not know how to socialize with others. They always come in each day with a positive and respectful attitude and are ready to work. They are like any other students but they learn in a different way. Each day they overcome obstacles and make great progress.

My Project

My cluster class is in need of some art materials to foster artistic creativity while improving fine motor control and assisting with skills taught in school.

My students love playing with modeling foam and dot painters.

Unfortunately, these dry up very easily. I am hoping to provide my students with a more pliable, super soft, and a more stretchier material. This will assist the children to improve their fine motor skills and increase their knowledge of the basic skills taught in our classroom.

My students also love painting with Dot Art Painters and tempra paints. They are able to paint shapes, letters, numbers, and anything their little heart desires. Thus, improving fine motor control and increasing their knowledge of the basic skills taught in preschool!
