Is looking at a picture of a skeleton the same as seeing the real thing? No way!
I teach at an awesome but low-income school.
My students LOVE science (and so do I!), but when it comes to learning about the human skeletal system, pictures and posters are just no substitute for seeing and manipulating a life-size, accurate skeleton.
My Project
With this wonderful skeleton, students will be able to actually see how different bones go together, and how joints really work. Having an actual, full-size skeleton means students will be able to make those all important connections between theory/abstract and reality. Also, this skeleton is on a rolling stand, which means that it can be easily shared between classrooms, accessible to all!
The students at my school would hugely benefit from having this wonderful skeleton to use during our science lessons.
This will have an impact on many different classrooms, not just mine. Also, the benefits will be far-reaching, as it will make a huge difference in students' understanding of bones and the skeletal system for years and years to come!
