Our wonderful high school is a Title I high school, the majority of students being income challenged. My classroom offers a haven for learning by doing and collaborating.
Please help me offer these amazing students opportunities to build things they wouldn't have the chance to normally!
My Project
Title I school students will create and collaborate in groups to build and experiment with trebuchets. This is a unique unit that can be difficult to find supplies and enough supplies to acquire, but is really awesome because of the amount of learning that comes with it!
Students will have a blast creating a medieval invention while learning core physics concepts such as gravity, potential energy, kinetic energy, counterweight strategy, projectiles, etc.
Students will be able to take trebuchets home to practice launching. This is an excellent project to donate to!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
