My Students

Are going to be "teachers" in a creative, innovative way! Remember the teacher in Charlie Brown? All the students heard was "Wah, wah,woh,wah,wah." Well, I've come up with a way to defeat that. My students and I are going to create skits that teach. Students teaching students!

I have a wonderful group of 5th graders who are willing and able to learn.

They are a diverse group of learners of various levels, but we all work toward a common cause, learning! We are part of a small public school in Delaware,housing children with big ideas! They have already embraced my passion for technology and taken it to another level!

My Project

With the camcorder, I will be able to videotape the skits, (mini-plays), my students will write to teach a lesson or concept that the students have learned. I will upload the video to our class website where students can watch and learn! What better way to reinforce or supplement difficult concepts than to have students, not only write about them, but to have them act it out as well! What better way to grasp a concept, then to watch something other students have created and explained, or to have to explain it yourself. I envision my class working collaboratively on a script, and I get goosebumps! This activity is not only for struggling students, but it is also an enrichment activity for those who "get it."

Imagine not only being able to write and direct these skits, but then to upload the videos to Teachertube,You Tube, or Schooltube, and share it with a global audience!

My students will be able to help other students who may be having difficulty with the same concepts they are learning!My goal is to get all my students to understand the concepts I am teaching, whether it's from me, or their peers. This is a great, fun, innovate, way to do it!
