Help me give my students a sight word path to walk in the hallway.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are interested in the world around them. They are city kids with a keen interest in learning new things. They love to explore, to write, to build and to read. As the ELD teacher for kinder and 1st grade, I spend my time pushing
into classrooms to teach English language learners.
My students come from an impoverished background, but they also have strong family ties and parents who want the best for them. Our school is very large and with the latest state budget cuts, our class will be much larger than normal. This won't stop us from becoming a school family looking out for each other and learning everything we can in these first pivotal years of school.
My Project
This idea I got from another teacher who has had great success teaching tricky words to students. As she teaches them the words go down and as they leave their classroom the students walk and read their words daily. They have had great success and I want to mimic that with a hallway line that all 3 kindergarten classes can walk on their way to lunch. The extra practice and the activity itself is geared toward making boring line walking more interesting and fun for students. The spots are spaced step by step. I’m so looking forward to seeing the students using their hallway time to learn a vast number of tricky words.
