Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My sixth graders are charismatic, loving, and eager to learn; they are also incredibly active and full of energy. All of that energy can make getting through eighty-minute classes challenging and in desperate need of movement which is not easy to provide in a traditional classroom environment. Unfortunately, the majority of my students are not on grade level for reading or writing which can make class even more challenging.

My kids desperately want to improve their reading and writing skills and this walking pad and standing desk will help us do that.

Physical activity has been shown to enhance cognitive function and concentration, and the use of a treadmill desk provides an opportunity for students to stay active while participating in class discussions or completing reading and writing assignments. In other words, this treadmill desk set up will allow my kids to be engaged in what we are doing as a class while allowing them the movement that they need at the same time. By supporting this project you will be helping to address both the physical and intellectual well-being of my students and we thank you for your support!
