My Project

My scholars are exceptional at our elementary school in Detroit. Despite the student body population consisting of 100% who are eligible for the school lunch program, they are more hungry to continue to rise from the ashes like the Phoenix! They will transform themselves, their relationships, and communities. Together, we will engage in powerful mind-body wellness practices like yoga/mindful movement, mindfulness, and breathwork - and learn self-care, social-emotional learning, and community building strategies that positively impact our lives, classrooms and schools. The evidence of yoga practice among children indicates improved benefits in concentration, stress alleviation, self-awareness, consciousness, self-regulation, behavioral and emotional maturity, and self-confidence in everyday life.
