Help me give my students materials to help them build things to help explain their thinking in Math. Science, and Social Studies.

My Students

My classroom is self-contained, and I teach in an urban area. Reading is very important, and I want to highlight the importance of it this year with this group of students. I do know that I will have a variety of students on different levels. I have a group of students that come from different backgrounds. More than half of my students are performing below grade level due to the pandemic. These kids are special to me because they are aware they missed a lot but they never give up!

My Project

I teach at a school that teaches through STEAM! We believe that all students at our school are artists. In the classroom comes several opportunities for students to demonstrate and express their creativity based off the content that they learned.

Having Legos in the classroom , will allow the students to express their creativity and not limit their creativity to just pencil and paper.

These Legos will be used in the classroom not at home. Students can use these Legos for various activities. In Social Studies the students learn about Historical Figures. I figured , the students could have the opportunity to build and create their own action figure. Maybe the students could give these action figures character traits and even super powers!

These Legos will also be used in Science, the students can use these Legos to build and explain each stage of the life cycle for a special animal or living thing!

After all , seeing is believing!
