My Students
We want to be word builders!! Yet we need the materials to do so.
We are a class of twenty-five English Language Learners in a Michigan kindergarten classroom.
Many of us have not been lucky enough to go to pre-school, so this is our first time in school! We are all five years old, although some of us will turn six soon! We are SUPER excited to learn new things about the English language. Our teacher works really hard to teach us and she knows that we will become life-long learners because she gives us a good foundation for learning!
My Project
Our school district has implemented a new language arts framework called Daily 5. One of the components to the program is "Working With Words". The materials requested would help to support our new literacy framework. Since our classroom is center based and Daily 5 allows for students to have more of a 'choice' in their learning, I would like to have some new, exciting center activities for the children to choose from during our literacy block such as magnetic letters, Fishing for Phonics and a variety of letter games.
