This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great”- My students are some of the greatest people that you'll ever meet. They are creative, curious, funny, sometimes lazy, sometimes disorganized, kind and eager to help. My students attend an urban high school where 94% of students qualify for the federal lunch program. Many come from first-generation American homes where English is not spoken. We, like many public schools, struggle with arts funding and we rely on your generosity to fill in the financial gaps that allow us to provide our students with the art opportunities they crave.

VR is an amazing art room tool that is out of reach to my students based on our school’s modest art budget.

With the incorporation of VR my students will have the opportunity to explore museums and artwork without leaving the classroom. VR will also introduce students to painting and drawing in a new way, in VR! This opportunity will provide students with a taste of how art and technology intersect.
