My Students
I teach an energetic group of 6th graders who love to learn. We are at a charter school where all students are known and cared for. We live in a diverse neighborhood and our school reflects that as we have a high population of English language learners.
It is my goal for all of my students to succeed no matter what struggles they go through.
We are currently working with the students half at home and half at school. I am constantly looking for ways for my students to interact with technology in new ways.
My Project
My students have been missing out this year on field trips. Because of lockdowns, we haven't been able to go on any of our classic, 6th grade outings. I have been looking for a way to show my students what they have been missing and I think I have found a way.
A VR Set will allow my students to experience wonders of the world while staying in the classroom.
The Oculus will transport my student to a different location where they will be able to explore things like volcanoes or the great barrier reef. The VR set allows a student to point their head and look around at their surroundings and feel like they are really there. The Chrome cast device will allow me to project whatever the student is seeing on their screen to the class.
