This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are tremendous readers who are working their way swiftly through my classroom library. We read every single class for 20 minutes, and they love the dedicated time to read. It's been a truly wonderful experience to watch them fall back into love with reading, and some have told me these are the first books they've finished since elementary school. However, I want to make sure I have plenty of options for them to read so we can keep this burgeoning love for reading going all year!
We do not have a library at our school, so my classroom library functions as a library for the entire school.
Students from all grades come to check out books in addition to my students. Therefore, it's important that I have a diverse range of options for students to consider and read.
Right now, my students are begging me for more young adult mysteries and thrillers. They love this genre and want more of it, and I want to provide them with engaging and fresh options. Your donation allows me to add these powerful and gripping stories to my classroom library.
